I could barely read about the Susan Smith case. I hope she never gets out of prison. I too, would show up every two years at parole hearings if I were her husband.

You make many good points about the differences between mental illness and evil. The one that stood out to me is that it is believed that mental illness can be cured. I don't believe what that woman did is curable - she must be a psychopath. Perhaps evil links better with psychopaths than mental illness. I don't know, I just know I'm disgusted.
