I don't think either action is selfish. I think that we each have one life and we should live it the way that we want to. Truly the way that we want to, without other people's expectations and opinions persuading us to behave differently.

I think the selfish thing is to have kids and not care for them, not pay for them, and not raise them to be functioning members of society.
