I don't think your daughter-in-law would have been upset about this. Maybe if you repeatedly did it, but as you said, you didn't. Just like they are learning to be parents, you are learning to be a grandparent. My mum and I had a talk about that when my daughter was a baby. I think the boundaries are different for different people too so it's a time of learning and adjustment for everyone.
