I think it was the fact I was pregnant and then had a young baby. It's very hard to face the idea of doing that alone. I ended up doing it alone anyway. We were living in a different country away from my family, so I couldn't just go to my parents and he still be able to see his child.

And then, when I decided enough was enough, I had to wait months to consult with lawyers, gain the paperwork, and have my husband sign it to legally move our daughter to my home country.

It was a very complex situation and I was trapped for much longer than I wanted to be.
