It is ridiculous that we are still dealing with this. When I applied for a green card in the US, my husband and I had to prove that we were a real couple. A few years earlier we had bought a house and signed up for utilities together - I handled most of the arrangements and put both of our names on everything. When I came to collect the evidence of shared utilities, only my husband's name was on the accounts - every single one! No mention of me and I was the one who organized it! I was pissed! This was 2020. Seriously, when are women going to be treated as equals?
