Oh, yuck! I've been in similar situations before. It's nasty and pathetic. Like you, I've gotten used to it and give zero f*cks. I hate the idea of this happening to my daughter as she gets older though. I'm sorry your daughter has gad to get thicker skin. It's unfortunate but necessary for the world we live in.
