HUMOR
She Brings All the Germs to the Yard
And my house
“Hey, Franky!”
Nope.
I glanced to my left, looking for the person calling my name.
“Fancy running into you here,” my mom-friend, Rachel said as my eyes found her amongst the bustling people entering and exiting the grocery store.
Too late to run away?
Rachel pushed her full shopping cart across the entranceway, taking out an old lady and several small children.
“Hi,” I smiled as she approached. “This isn’t your part of town.”
“No, I was visiting my mom and thought I’d stop here on my way home,” she replied.
So now no store is safe to visit?
I smiled. “Oh well, you look busy,” I replied as I shuffled backward towards the store.
“Hello, Sweetie,” Rachel said, kneeling to my daughter’s height and grinning at her.
Oh, so we’re doing this.
“Hi,” my daughter replied shyly.
“Where’s Abbie?” I asked, scanning the area for Rachel’s three-year-old daughter.
Rachel waved her arm. “She’s around here somewhere.”
