The wild child dating phase is definitely a thing. I have two divorced friends who have gone through it and both have expected and encouraged me to do the same thing while my divorce is ongoing. I have no such desire (and I was wild when I was younger).

I think you are right about the long duration of abuse...it has an impact. My marriage was so awful and the divorce process isn't as bad as yours, but it's not great. I think it has something to do with the cold, meaningless interactions. I've had that through my marriage, why would I want more of that?
