This is a thought-provoking story. Great writing. I'm glad Tom's wife made the decision to look after herself and I'm glad Tom is somewhere where he is safe. I've had experience caring for people with Alzheimer's, I know it's not easy. It sounds like Tom had a profound effect on you.
