My husband was a healthy person when we conceived. He was a normal, working, member of society. While I was pregnant, he fell into addiction. He is addicted to drugs and alcohol now. He was physically abusive to me. He threatened our child. Oxy used to fall out of his pockets as he stumbled around our house, out of his mind.

This article doesn't tell you all of that because this article is a snapshot of one marital issue.

It would have been child abuse to allow my child to live in that environment.

Taking her away likely saved her life.
