What a beautiful description of your experience with Hemingway's writing.

…Absent of purple prose, lean, with not an unneeded word but capturing the spirit of the experience. It’s like sitting in a canoe, riding the river, moving briskly past the scenery but not missing a single ripple of water or the richness of the surrounding scenery. I enjoyed that section of the story so much that it inspired me to write a short fiction story base…
